Fixing public safety is progressive

Is it sour grapes or just a complete lack of restraint?
City councilmembers are considering a measure that would make the City Attorney report to them. This “brazen political play,” as described by The Seattle Times, comes after the preferred candidate of the far left councilmembers lost to a candidate pledging greater focus on public safety. Their candidate lost, so now they are planning to make life hard for his successor.
This is while communities of color are suffering the most losses from our declining public safety. A new report from the King County Prosecuting Attorney shows 81% of shooting victims in King County are People of color.
It is regressive to continue to allow violent crime to get worse while undercutting our public safety system. Fixing public safety is progressive.
